  4. Am trying to send photos. Will figure out as soon as I can. By the way, on the way to Tim and marienella's home in Bangladesh, a train passed us by with several people sitting and standing on top of the train😨. No room inside. Also, there are no traffic lights. Cars just go. And very few stay in their own lanes. Once in a while we'll see a cop directing traffic. Finally, I gave my first and last bribe to an immigration cop at the Airport. (He called it a tip). Totally unnecessary.

  6. Just got back from shopping. Our driver drove us to nearby shops. We say a lot of beggars who approached our car. Made sure door wAs locked. Brought my camera, but couldn't bring myself to take pictures of the poverty. People were so nice to us, I didn't want to exploit there situation.

  7. Went out shopping yesterday. Saw a young boy begging whose left foot was partially burned off. Tim and marienella told us that a lot of these kids are maimed and then drugged and then put out on the streets to beg. One little boy held on to our car; running along side it as we drove away.

  11. After visiting the palace, we went to a textile company that specializes in fabric printing with natural dyes. Got two really simple outfits made out of cotton that were tailor made by 9:30 this evening . Then went to a precious and semi-precious stone cutter. Brought a cut green amethyst exclusive to India. Another fort and then to dinner at a roof top restaurant.

  12. Boy did I get India wrong! This country is amazing! Our hotel and the people who run it are amazing. When we first arrived, we were given "An Aliens Guide to India." It covers everything from the cast system to what is in Indian dishes. It's a good guide to Jaipur, at least. It also warns visitors about believing what they are told by street merchants and men who claim to be tour guides. The street sellers are so ingratiating they act insulted when you don't buy anything. But it's all an act. It really helps if you have a good trustworthy driver and honest hotel owners.

  13. Went to the Krishna temple and saw a prayer service. The priest tossed water from the Ganges river on us, to bless us. We then were given a sort of wafer made out of sugar. Amazing place!
Next, we went to the monkey palace, way up in the mountains. Once we drove up, we had to climb even more stairs. There were three pools at the top. One for females, males, and the monkeys. We didn't have any food, so they pretty much ignored us. Fun.

  14. On our way to Agra . Sorry to leave Jaipur . Stopped at a restaurant and bought more stuff! Indians really know how to sell. Brought a little container made out of camel bone. Also saw a herd of camels on the highway. All the motorists had to stop. Tried to video it. We'll see how it turns out.

  15. Haven't had a chance to comment lately. Very bad internet in some places. Fly back to Bangladesh yesterday. Slept the rest of the day. Both Anna and I got diarrhea. Have been taking Imodium and hydration salts. Even with all the water I drank, I stii became dehydrated. Also, Indian food is very rich. Looking forward to salads again. Tomorrow, we go to a spa for mani-pedis.
